Statement on Accessibility

Accessibility at the 2016 Toronto Anarchist Book Fair

Barrier-Free Access:

The book fair will be held at the Steelworkers’ Hall (25 Cecil St.) The building and washrooms are wheelchair accessible.

Attendant care:

Book fair collective members can provide basic attendant care. We will be wearing armbands. Mutual aid is an important tenet of our movement, and we believe that asking others for help is a political act.

Sexual Assault and Safer Space Policies:

The Toronto Anarchist Book Fair is a survivor-centric space. Read our full sexual assault policy here, with information on who to contact for support:

The safer space policy is available here:

Gender Neutral Washrooms:

Washrooms will be gender neutral.

Kid & Parent Inclusivity

Children are a part of our growing movement, and as such need to be supported and respected, as do their families. We welcome kid noise and for children to attend any of the workshops and panel discussions. We believe that children deserve more than babysitting, and as such the Kid Zone has been created. Full statement on kid & parent inclusivity.

Food Allergies:

The kitchen will be nut-free and all ingredients will be listed. All meals will be vegan.

Large-font programs

Copies of the program will be available in large font. We will encourage workshop facilitators to provide materials in large font formats.

Scent-free policy

The Toronto Anarchist Book Fair is a scent-free space. Please don’t wear any scented products, including perfume, cologne, essential oils or scents that may be remaining from soap, shampoo or other bath products.

Other concerns?

If you have questions or concerns, need more details, have suggestions, or just want to chat, you can email, or talk to any book fair volunteer. Look for the armbands!
